It's neither a holiday nor a celebration, so why are Trump and Ursula kissing us?

Whenever Europeans or Americans suddenly start applauding and praising us out of the blue, I am immediately filled with fear. Especially if they try to give us money on top of it, I say 'Oh no.'

History repeats itself. Whenever they start "clapping," they are cooking up trouble for us. Didn't former German Chancellor Angela Merkel admit as much in her memoir just a few days ago?

Didn't she write about how they deceived us with promises like "We will grant freedom of movement, you are so great, you are so grand, we need you, we will cooperate," only to dump the migrant problem in our laps?

The book, which explains how they convinced Turkey with money and how they made Turkey forget its demand for 'visa-free travel for Turks' despite their promises, is breaking sales records.

That is why, after the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen rushing over and suddenly showering Turkey with praise does not feel very sincere.

In fact, she is applying the exact same strategy as Merkel, offering praise and compliments.

Ursula von der Leyen, drawing attention to the importance of developing EU-Turkey relations, said, "I made the first visit of my second term to Ankara. The EU is Turkey's largest trade and investment partner, and our intention is to develop this."

It is precisely because of these words that extra caution is required.

Merkel admitted they paid money, and Ursula von der Leyen openly declared that they would manage the process with money again, saying, "Turkey continues to be a key partner on migration. Additional funding of 1 billion euros is on the way to support efforts to host Syrian refugees."

Now let's come to US President-elect Trump... Trump's approach is a greater danger than Ursula von der Leyen's migration strategy. Everyone knows what kind of politician Trump is, who praises Erdoğan with "my dear friend" rhetoric. If he says such things, one should fear what might come out of it. It should not be forgotten that the same Trump is a politician whose words are unpredictable, to the point of writing a letter to Erdoğan saying "Don't be a fool." If he is suddenly saying "my very good friend" now, one should again say "oh no" and be afraid.

The sentences he constructs are already so dangerous, much like a student who has committed a misdemeanor at school and has the skill to blame their friends when facing a disciplinary board...

He acts as if the US has had no involvement in Syria, and while appearing to praise Turkey, he claims that Turkey had a role in the regime's collapse.

Is this a plan to wash their hands of the matter tomorrow, when Israel's advance into Syria takes every step possible for the Greater Israel project, by saying "Turkey destroyed Syria" and "We won't get involved in the region, you should have thought about it while destroying Syria"?

There are also sentences in Trump's speech that were not reflected in the Turkish press! We need to look at what he is saying in those sentences. For instance, when he emphasizes a '100-year dream,' is he referring to Israel starting an occupation in Syria and the "Greater Israel Dream"? Or, by calling Erdoğan "my dear friend" and mentioning our army that has not been worn down by war, is he signaling that they are planning Turkey as the main actor for a new chaos in the Middle East?
