HPV is a viral infection that is commonly transmitted between humans through skin-to-skin contact, causing skin or mucosal membrane growths (warts). There are more than 100 types of HPV, and more than 40 of them are transmitted through sexual contact and can affect your genitals, mouth, or throat.

However, the remaining 60 types can also be transmitted in other ways. Such as contact, using someone else's personal belongings, or shared living spaces…

As the name suggests, it is a virus transmitted from human to human.

But the reason it has been making headlines for two days, first on social media and then in all the newspapers, is not a health report, but a scandal!

Messages shared anonymously by students identified as attending Karabük University on a 'confession' page suddenly brought this virus to the agenda.

The virus is about humans, but what is happening is not humane.

Looking at the process that has become the subject of mockery on social media, one's blood runs cold.

According to the allegations, male and female students studying at Karabük University used confession accounts to tell their friends about their situation after having sexual relations with foreign students and contracting this virus.

Photos of fungal infections caused by the virus were also shared.

While raising awareness about the virus is good, the perception created is so cruel that it casts suspicion on everyone.

According to the allegations, the virus was transmitted by Black students.

The subsequent perception created a prejudice that all Black students have this virus.

Furthermore, every student continuing their education in Karabük has now been branded as a potential virus carrier.

Their moral values were questioned.

Students who fell into the ugly pit of social media were left wondering how to clear their names.

Now, no one can say, "I study in Karabük." This is a topic that a public that forgets everything will resist forgetting, because this virus is usually sexually transmitted. We forget promises made, we forget betrayal, we forget to learn from history, but when it comes to sexuality, our public does not forget.

Now you know how these young people will be viewed if they say they graduated from Karabük University…

One or two isolated incidents were attributed to all students. No one cares about the trauma this will cause.

The Karabük Provincial Health Directorate announced that there was no particular increase in cases. So, how will the students here explain this to their families, friends, and relatives? Such irresponsibly produced news will perhaps lead to other problems.

This virus is spreading not only in Karabük but all over Turkey and the world. However, awareness is being raised, and vaccinations are being administered.

Isn't the real question that should be on the agenda regarding Karabük the fact that 12 thousand foreign students from 98 different countries are studying at Karabük University?

Turkey has turned into a complete paradise for foreigners.

How do they come, how are visas issued, are no health tests performed, and how does it happen that more than half of the university is foreign?

We are talking about HPV or HIV instead of asking these questions.

Amidst all this chaos, only the Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi) asked some questions regarding the university to the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erdal Özvar.

The questions conveyed to Prof. Dr. Özvar from the party's social media account included the following:

• What is happening at Karabük University? Is the claim that most departments and classes consist of foreign students true? Are diplomas being sold for dollars? Is YÖK investigating these claims, or is it just watching?

So what are we doing, are we just watching?
