Living cheaply in Turkey!

Don't leave your news choices to an algorithm - decide for yourself what you read. Add 12punto to your preferred sources!

A report published yesterday in the Daily Mail, one of the UK's most widely read tabloid newspapers, has become a hot topic in both the United Kingdom and Turkey...

The story told of a 24-year-old Briton named Josh Kerr who, after calculating the cost of living in the UK, set off saying, "I can live like a king in Turkey for this money!"

Josh Kerr discovered the model of living more cheaply in Turkey—a path previously found only by British retirees—and not only discovered it but decided to share it with those around him.

The savvy young Brit, while paying 950 pounds a month for rent and bills in Manchester, realized that the cost of an all-inclusive 28-day stay at the five-star Port River Hotel and Spa in Turkey was only 944 pounds, so he packed his bags and headed straight for Antalya…

So, is it really more profitable for a Brit to live in Turkey?

Let's do the math together.

Josh Kerr pays 950 pounds for monthly rent and utility expenses. Even if he shops for everything he could possibly want, food and drink for one person would cost 300 pounds a month. We'll add 300 pounds for going out, socializing, and entertainment, bringing the total to 1,550 pounds.

Now, this is, of course, the expense for a young person living alone in a small apartment or a rented room. If he worked an unskilled job, the minimum wage he would receive is around 1,800 pounds. He still has 250 pounds left in his pocket!

The ironic part is that even on a minimum wage, he gets to vacation like a king in Turkey for a month!

A young person earning minimum wage here cannot even dream of what Josh is experiencing…

According to Josh, he also has a job suitable for remote work. Moreover, he has discovered other amenities at the hotel he found in Turkey!

The 944-pound Turkey vacation package includes return flights, all food and drinks at the hotel, access to five swimming pools, various bars and restaurants, spa and entertainment facilities, and beach activities.

If this man doesn't live in Turkey, where should he live?

The pound is now 39 TL…

944 pounds is roughly 37 thousand TL. A local tourist could barely stay at the same hotel for one day for this price.

So, as always, it is the foreigners who benefit from the blessings.

Our country is prohibitively expensive, but for its own citizens...

For foreigners, it is a paradise...

Moreover, regardless of whether they are British, German, Syrian, or Afghan, there are unlimited opportunities in our country for all of them, as long as you are not a Turkish citizen...
