We really are no different from one another...
White and black, good and evil, rich and poor, rural and urban, educated and uneducated...
The government and the opposition...
We say "how can this be?" and cling to the other side, only for the side we were angry at to do something even more absurd than the first.
Like a balloon with its end left open, we are losing our air and flying around, wobbling left and right.
But if you ask, everyone thinks they know everything best.
I have been in Bodrum, Turkey's tourist hotspot, for three days.
I'll skip the high prices and such. After seeing the disgrace taking place, I understood better why domestic tourists are going to the Greek islands and why foreign tourists have cut off their visits.
There is no water in Bodrum, Turkey's biggest tourist destination!
Don't bother telling me lies about global warming, water scarcity, or drought. There is no water to take a shower, no water...
Besides, there was a water problem in Bodrum last year and the year before that, too.
Of course, there is no such problem in Bodrum's luxury hotels or the neighborhoods where the wealthy live!
Yesterday, while traveling from Akyarlar to Karaincir, I witnessed a sewage pipe burst in front of a hotel. Hotel guests were struggling to save their cars from the dirty water coming out of the sewage pipe. In an area where the smell was unbearable, three or four gendarmes were trying to direct traffic.

But there was no crew working on it.
When I returned four hours later, traffic was flowing through another neighborhood because the road was closed, and the road where the hotel was located had been shut down to traffic.
No water, a tourism destination with never-completed infrastructure work that reeks of sewage...
The roads are in poor condition.
Everyone blames each other. The municipality blames the government, and the government blames the local administration. But the people of Bodrum and the tourists are left in filth...
With things as they are, an incredible proposal came from Ahmet Aras, who served as the Mayor of Bodrum in the previous term and was elected Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in these elections.
It is a truly 'eccentric' project!
Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras suggested, "Let the tourist coming here pay a fee as a usage charge for the damage they leave on the city."
He even said, "We are working on this and will soon present it to our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change or our Ministry of Treasury and Finance."
I applaud him. Being unable to do what you need to do in a district with so many problems and then introducing a tourist tax is exactly the kind of behavior that suits us...
