The footage of a young person wearing a Pikachu cartoon character costume fleeing from police, which left its mark on the İmamoğlu protests, had gone viral. Everyone had something to say about these images, which found their way into the world press. While Pikachu became a symbol for those supporting the protests, those who supported the government's stance accused Pikachu of being an agent!

In a statement, the young person wearing the costume said, "I just wanted to make people smile a little and boost my friends' morale," but he couldn't convince anyone.

For example, actor Hasan Kaçan, whom you might remember from the "Zoning Amnesty" commercial and who received 187 thousand 500 liras from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) for an 8-day event during the AKP era, targeted Pikachu. Kaçan said, "All of these are specially worked-on agency jobs. It is an effort to make lawlessness and vandalism look cute to young people. From the gas-masked whirling dervish figure to the Pikachu character, from the one proposing marriage in front of the police to the one in the Spider-Man costume, it is a professional production. The characters are actors in a written script. There is nothing funny here. There is brutality, there is looting, there is vandalism. There is an agency's perception management work."

We don't know if this is an agency job, but we witnessed another kind of work.

In fact, for the first time this holiday, the DEM Party and the MHP visited each other. They didn't dance next to Pikachu, but 'DEM'-infused tea was served during the holiday visit.

The AKP's biggest argument was saying, "They marginalized us for years." They won the votes of citizens who do not live in the city and are more conservative by saying, "They called us 'jerrycan-headed,' they called us 'the man who scratches his belly.' Konak, who described his love for his homeland like a poem on stage by saying, "Cremate me, scatter my ashes into the Black Sea," was declared an "infidel." Çatalca Mufti Ahmet Mehmetalioğlu guaranteed that Volkan Konak would go to hell by saying, "He died on stage. He who drinks for us, will surely burn for us."

People who have never watched an art performance in their lives took these words seriously and lashed out at the Son of the North, even after his death. What insults... Yet, Volkan Konak has an interview on this subject. Explaining that he would be buried in the family cemetery and that these words were just a poetic show on stage... In other words, these words are no different from the song lyric, "Let them wash me in the rains of my village." They are sentences he formed to describe his admiration for the Black Sea.
