Good conduct reduction! A country of killers in suits....

In Istanbul, the man who brutally murdered a cat named Eros by kicking it for minutes in an elevator was granted a good conduct reduction.

The cat killer was released.

The "Good Conduct Reduction", which we hear about so often, is such a great danger...

I cannot get this sentence out of my mind from Fidan Ataselim, General Secretary of the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, who has followed hundreds of cases.

"Suits have started to be rented for court hearings in prisons. Because there are killers in court who receive good conduct reductions just for wearing a tie!"

Good Conduct Reduction; in other words, discretionary reduction!

A right granted to the judge in our Turkish Penal Code! The judge presiding over the trial can apply a good conduct reduction by looking at the perpetrator's past, their social relationships, and their behavior showing remorse after the act and during the trial process.

While thousands of murdered women cannot defend themselves under the soil, the monsters who kill those women are rewarded with a "GOOD CONDUCT REDUCTION".

Unfortunately, in 80 percent of femicide trials, judges issue decisions for "unjust provocation" and "good conduct reduction".

While the tie is the main subject of good conduct reductions, I examined the reasons why good conduct reductions were given to female killers.

UNBELIEVABLE GOOD CONDUCT REDUCTIONS

Orhan Munis, who killed TRT artist Hatice Kaçmaz with 15 stab wounds in a park in Ankara, was granted an "excessive love and passion reduction" because he said, "I loved her very much. If she had accepted my marriage proposal, I would not have killed her." While he was being tried with an aggravated life sentence, he was released after serving 13 years in prison.

Ali Rıza Yüzer, who killed his 6-month pregnant wife Sadife Yüzer with a hunting rifle, claimed he committed the murder after his wife said the child she was carrying was not his. Applying a compress to the wound of the wife he killed was accepted as "good conduct." His life sentence was reduced to 23 years in prison. Even though it was determined by a DNA test that the child was his, he escaped a life sentence with a good conduct reduction.

Hasan Fakıoğlu, who killed 21-year-old Ayşenur Çolakoğlu by shooting her 4 times in the head and chest, was granted a good conduct reduction because he said it was an "accidental killing" and wore a tie in court.

If there are no witnesses to the murder, it is easier for the killer to receive a good conduct reduction. The lies the perpetrator tells freely convince the judge.

Words such as "She insulted my manhood, she had someone else in her life, she cheated on me, she slandered me, she cursed at me..." are enough for the perpetrator to receive a good conduct reduction. And if a suit is worn, the killers escape life imprisonment with a remorse reduction.

The suits worn in court by men who murder women with the most despicable methods become their saviors.

However, no monster should be rewarded with a good conduct reduction just because they wore a suit.

Eros! An innocent cat. He was murdered by being kicked for 5 minutes in an elevator by a person named İbrahim Keloğlan. With public pressure, the killer was caught and tried. The Büyükçekmece courthouse had never been this crowded in any femicide case. This was a tremendous will. Animal lovers were at the courthouse so that "Eros's killer receives the heaviest sentence."

In our country, where femicides are normalized, the justice sought for a cat killer could not be found either.

The court sentenced the defendant to 2 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of "Intentional killing of an animal." The sentence given was the highest sentence to date under the Animal Protection Law.

However, a good conduct reduction was applied to İbrahim Keloğlan. His sentence was reduced to 1 year and 3 months, and he was released.

A cat killer who has learned about the "good conduct reduction" is now walking freely among us. Thousands of potential femicide perpetrators who have learned about the "good conduct reduction" are also walking freely among us.

Those who apply the "Good Conduct Reduction" to monsters who commit crimes against cats, women, children, and innocent people, can you lay your heads on your pillows comfortably?

While waiting for mercy for the victim, why mercy for the killer?

THERE IS NO REDUCTION IN JUSTICE!
