This generation no longer accepts the silence imposed upon it!

The conscience of a country sometimes awakens with a single sentence. In Beyazıt Square, those words emerging from the hearts of thousands suddenly reminded everyone of everything this land has been forced to forget:

“We will not seek reconciliation!”

Those words, shouted from the podium by Istanbul University student Eren, were not just an expression of anger; they were also an expression of an honorable memory, an unyielding youth, and a courage that defies fear.

“We will not forget what we have lived through,” said Eren. Because in this country, forgetting has often become another name for silence. They recalled police violence, plastic bullets, punches, and strip searches one by one. Every voice that was meant to be silenced united in that square and turned into a river. And that river is no longer flowing backward; it is flowing only toward the light.

This youth represents a conscience that is meant to be suppressed by violence but emerges louder every time. They are shouting out not only their own wounds but all the injustices that have been met with silence.

The thousands of young people gathered there are patiently laying the stones of the path from darkness to light. Their demands are clear: a freer university, a more just society, a more peaceful future. Instead of violence, oppression, and fear, they want a country where dialogue, understanding, and justice prevail. And they are faithful… Because they believe that after every oppression, there is an awakening.

The youth carry hope. Even if they have banners in their hands and slogans on their tongues, what they truly carry in their hearts is a desire for change. A change that comes not from conflict, but from the heart. And perhaps that is exactly why the Beyazıt Rally is not just a protest; a generation took the floor there. This generation no longer accepts the silence imposed upon it. It speaks without fear, names things for what they are, and confronts them. And most importantly: it does not forgive.

“We will not seek reconciliation,” they say. Because for reconciliation, there must first be justice. First confrontation, first an apology, first accountability…

The tomorrows of this country are hidden in the youth who took that podium. Let those who want to muffle their voices know: It is too late. Because if a country silences its youth, it loses its future as well. But if it listens, it is reborn together.
