Germany is jealous of us...

A friend of mine who lives on the Germany-Turkey line tells me with astonishment.

‘Every time I come here, I cannot believe the increase in food prices in Turkey’

Last week, he bought ground meat from the best butcher in Germany for 10 Euros per kilo. When he paid 550 TL, equivalent to 16 Euros, for the same ground meat in Turkey, he thought; ‘Living in the homeland has now turned into a real miracle!’

*

‘What do people eat and drink?’ he asked… ‘They neither eat nor drink!’ I said…

‘Besides being expensive, it is a country where people are made to regret what they eat and drink due to pesticides in vegetables and fruits, and mold and poison residues in nuts,’ I added…

During our conversation, we made calculations and comparisons from food to clothing… While the minimum wage in Germany can buy 150 kilos of meat, in Turkey it buys 30 kilos…

While you can buy this much gasoline in Germany, we get this much here…

The AKP has turned the most fertile lands in the world into hell for its citizens…

Prices that wouldn't even exist under wartime conditions; from rent to transportation, from food to healthcare… In Turkey!

Is there a war? No! Why this inflation? Why this disappearance of purchasing power?!

*

CHP Aydın Deputy Evrim Karakoz made a comparison with last year at the most basic level; ‘Last year, the price of a kilo of meat was on average 240 TL, a kilo of ground meat was 210 TL, and the price of a whole chicken was 44 TL. This year, meat has risen to 550 TL, ground meat to 400 TL, and chicken to 75 TL…’

Private school owners, who have become a nightmare for parents, must have taken meat prices as a base, as they have exploded the fees for shuttle services, meals, and stationery, and doubled school tuition fees. But if you ask them, they remain within the 56 percent maximum increase limit set by the state!

In other words, neither do landlords comply with the limit on rent increase rates, nor do school owners comply with education hikes…

Both those who live in rented houses and those who send their children to private schools are forced to accept what is imposed on them!

The deep depression in society is of no concern to those in the Palace because they are doing politics precisely to manage the depression and harvest votes.

They are aware that if the public wakes up and asks this question, their entire ‘order’ will be disrupted…

‘Where do the collected taxes go?!’

We buy one car for ourselves and three cars for the state!

To own a mid-range automobile, we pay the AKP government the price of three additional automobiles in taxes.

For a smartphone, we buy one for ourselves and give the government as much tax as the price of the phone!

These are the calculations of tax expert Ozan Bingöl…

*

What happens to these taxes? How are they spent?

There is no ‘agenda’ they won't create so that citizens don't dwell on these questions!

*

The Germans do not have worries like food inflation, cost of living, or child hunger.

They don't have a private school agenda either; education is free…

My friend from Germany continued to explain when he saw that the automobiles an average German owns cost as much as an airplane in Turkey; ‘I bought a luxury car with an 800 Euro monthly installment. At the end of the term, I will make a lump sum payment of 800 thousand TL in Turkish currency. I am driving the best car without any difficulty.’

Owning one of the world's most luxurious and safe cars on installments! As you know, banks in Turkey don't even provide suitable loans for automobiles… Those who have the means save up 8-10 million and pay it all at once!

I look at the retirees, the low-income earners… At the lives that the Palace grinds like a mill…

There are those who repeat the AKP fairy tales as if they were enchanted.

Those who say ‘Germany is jealous of us’… Whatever the Imam says, the congregation memorizes it…

While some are drowning in the same boat, others have their eyes, minds, and hearts tied, listening to fairy tales!
