Retired General Çetin Doğan will turn 84 next week.

Like the other commanders buried behind concrete walls following the February 28th case, he is lying in prison at 84, standing tall.

Don't let the phrase "standing tall" fool you; that is how they express themselves, but they are struggling with the immense weight of being subjected to injustice in their souls and serious health problems stemming from their age.

His dear wife, Nilgün Doğan, reached out to me with a message during the "Anında Manşet" program I prepare and host on TELE 1 on Wednesday evenings.

'My dear brother Tuncay,

I watch your program with interest. I was very happy that you brought the issue of the February 28th Case, which is being tried to be forgotten, to your agenda. I went to Buca to visit Çetin today. I returned leaving my mind there. He turns 84 in a month. Not to mention all his illnesses. I am experiencing the helplessness of not being able to do anything.

I send you my gratitude and love for your interest and support.'

I am performing my journalistic duty by not remaining a spectator to a blatant injustice and persecution.

February 28th is a case of vendetta... There is not a shred of law or justice in it.

They accused the soldiers of that period of attempting a coup, but even the Prime Minister of that period, Necmettin Erbakan, who was allegedly the target of the coup, had said, 'How can there be such a coup? It was not a coup'...

So, who were the ones who put February 28th, which even the subject of the event said 'was not a coup', into the "coup" mold?

They were the real coup plotters. They were the ones who staged a coup by seizing the judiciary through the judiciary.

Prosecutors and judges affiliated with the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization! Even police officers, expert witnesses... The names who served from the indictment of the case to the trial were arrested for FETÖ, and one is a fugitive...

Even though it has become as clear as day that these so-called prosecutors and judges, who were the 'favorite' jurists of a period, were acting on behalf of FETÖ, the retired soldiers are still in prison!

Why?

Let's look at the Gezi Case, which has turned into a state crisis in recent weeks...

The prosecutor who initiated the investigation into Gezi is a fugitive FETÖ member... The police chief of the period who prepared the summary of proceedings regarding Gezi is also under arrest for FETÖ.

The judge who gave life sentences to people who were not involved in the slightest bit of violence in the Gezi Case by calling it a 'coup attempt' is a political figure who was a candidate nominee from the AKP. The judge's wife is a FETÖ confessor.

Look at what Özgür Özel, who followed the process as the CHP group deputy chairman during the trial, says;

- "The wife of the judge who made the decision 'You are coup plotters' is a member of the community that carried out the July 15th coup. She accepts this, becomes a confessor, and gives 160 names. You had this person judge Osman Kavala, Mücella Yapıcı, and all our friends and give a coup verdict. This is a black stain that will go down in Turkey's political history and world legal history."

The government, which constantly creates the perception that 'a coup is being staged against them' with conspiracy cases, is being accused of attempting a coup through the judiciary by seizing the judiciary.

The government's effort to design the country through the judicial system, of which it has seized a large part, has prepared the ground for a decay that will destroy the state.

The AKP has practically infected the state structure of the Republic of Turkey with a virus. Both the reputation of the country's highest court, the court whose decisions bind other state organs, is being destroyed, and the signal flare of a new phase where the law of the powerful, those in the Palace, now prevails is being lit.

With the call he made yesterday, CHP leader Özgür Özel invited all organizations and people in Turkey who believe in democracy and the rule of law to stand side by side on a new line.

'We will not remain silent while 5 executioners darken our future. With the signatures collected by the CHP, Future Party, Felicity Party, DEVA Party, IYI Party, and TİP, we are calling the Parliament to an extraordinary meeting next Tuesday at 15:00. We want to state that we will wholeheartedly participate in any call against this coup attempt. For the great rally where we will protect democracy and the constitution, we invite all our citizens, all political parties, every individual who wants to protect the future of this country, and its youth to our rally at Tandoğan Square on Sunday, January 14th, at 13:00, to protect our future and justice.'

The Tandoğan meeting is important... I have no doubt that Özgür Özel's call will be met by hundreds of thousands. Because the salt has rotted now! Words have lost their meaning...

It is time to protect the constitution, state institutions, democracy, and justice.
