Has caused environmental disasters one after another.
It has frequently come to the agenda.
As if that were not enough,
The colonial mining carried out
At the "Çöpler Complex Mine Facility"
Is destroying not only our nature and resources but also our lives.
The Çöpler Complex Mining Facility,
Since the day it began operations,
Has circumvented regulations.
It was favored and protected by politicians.
Through political, economic, and legal schemes,
And with EIA reports that distorted the truth,
Piece by piece,
Step by step.
Insidiously
Just as a monster approaches its prey,
With the projects prepared,
The Çöpler Complex Mining Facility,
Grew and grew.
It became a giant with blood dripping from its teeth.
This giant became a rampant, rabid capitalist monster.
It created great dangers.
It caused massive destruction.
The danger it created,
by the TMMOB Board of Directors,
long before this Erzincan İliç disaster,
was announced to the public,
repeatedly,
and lawsuits were filed,
regarding this matter.
This has also been demonstrated by the technical reports submitted.
In every petition and every statement presented by the TMMOB administration,
the potential for a landslide at the İliç site was emphasized repeatedly.
However, as Nazım Hikmet said,
“The ears of hearts are deaf” and because of this,
despite all the cries, no one heard.
Neither the Ministry, nor the local administration, nor the Court
They did not hear these warnings.
They did not take them into account.
They ignored them.
Thus, the disaster experienced today was paved.
The giants of capitalism

The TMMOB Board of Directors states:
Those responsible for these events are not only those who carried out the operations, but also those who enabled and permitted them, and those who turned a blind eye to the plundering of our country's resources and nature for the interests of a group of foreign capital. They are the ones who left lawsuits, which are legally required to be concluded urgently, in limbo, caused them to drag on, and who, despite years passing, have still failed to even rule on requests for a stay of execution.
We call out once again; our mines must be removed from being a plundering ground for national and international capital groups, and all those responsible for the disaster in İliç must be brought to justice.
