582 coins from the Kingdom of Pontus era seized
In Amasya, 582 coins dating back to the Kingdom of Pontus were seized, and one suspect was taken into custody.
Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams received information that an individual was looking for buyers to sell historical artifacts in their possession.
During the operation conducted by the teams, 582 coins, believed to date back to the Kingdom of Pontus era, were seized in the suspect's vehicle.
The suspect, identified as O.A., who allegedly attempted to sell the coins in question, was taken into custody and brought to the gendarmerie.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect for "violating the Law on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Property."
