A Neo-Classical journey from Yunuscan Kaya: Rainish album is out now

Pianist and composer Yunuscan Kaya takes listeners on an emotional journey with his second album in the field of modern neo-classical music, Rainish. Released on August 22, 2025, the album depicts the serenity and peace of rain.
Utilizing emotional terms from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows during the naming process of the songs, the pianist explores themes of tranquility, melancholy, and inner discovery through the minimalist narrative of the album, which consists of 5 solo piano pieces.

Regarding the album, the London-based artist said, “In this album, I wanted to bring together the calmness of rain and nature with the inner world of the human being. Each piece is a short cross-section of emotion; for the listener to take their own journey.”
WHO IS PIANIST AND COMPOSER YUNUSCAN KAYA
Yunuscan Kaya was born in Ankara in 1990. He began receiving piano training from Nuriye Arıkan at a young age and started giving recitals and home concerts. Graduating from the Ankara Hacettepe State Conservatory in 2014, the artist focused on piano adaptations of works, making the first piano adaptations of some of J. S. Bach’s lesser-known church organ works. He also arranged Beatles works for solo piano and gave many recitals.
He is the founder and soloist of the Queen Tribute Group ‘A Kind of Vision’ (Freddie Mercury Show), which has been active since 2012. This theatrical show has been performed in many cities across Turkey and has received great interest.
After meeting Ayçe Abana, Kaya began composing theater music and stepped into the world of theater with the play Veronika’nın Dünyası, for which he served as music director. He worked with Kandemir Konduk and Tiyatro Kedi, participating in many plays. With the “Broad-Sense” project they founded together with Abana, they brought world-famous musical and film scores to the stage and gave numerous concerts.
Releasing his first solo piano album, Butterfly, in 2020, Kaya moved to the UK with his wife, Ayçe Abana, in 2021. He continues to perform and give piano lessons there. In 2025, he brought his neo-classical piano album titled Rainish, consisting of five works, to music lovers.
