Access ban had been imposed on clips: Surprising move from Deniz Göktaş for his stand-up show

With his stand-up show titled "Ölü Deniz," which met audiences on June 24, Deniz Göktaş reached over 4.5 million viewers in a short time.

It drew attention that the young comedian released his high-profile show on YouTube without ads or monetization features enabled.

Throughout the show, many current political and social topics were addressed, ranging from humorous references to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to politicians imprisoned in Silivri and debates within the CHP. These topics, conveyed through Göktaş's humorous language, spread rapidly across social networks, and relevant clips were reshared by millions of people.

On the other hand, access ban decisions were issued regarding social media posts containing certain segments of the show. The Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD) announced that the access ban was issued in accordance with Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 for the purpose of "protecting national security and public order." Following this decision, some posts on the X platform were blocked from access within Turkey.
