Ali Altay bans Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu from using his campaign song

The charter changes within the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the judicial decision regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's potential return to the chairmanship have sparked debates both within the party and the arts community. In addition to the unease among the party's grassroots, artists are also expressing their reactions to this development one after another. Most recently, musician Ali Altay drew attention with a statement he made on social media.

Ali Altay stated that the campaign song "Rights-Law-Justice," which he gifted to the CHP in 2020, can no longer be used by the party or Kılıçdaroğlu. In his message, Altay used the term "trustee" for Kılıçdaroğlu, claiming that the party has drifted away from the principles of democracy and law. The artist emphasized that, in response to this stance, he will exercise his legal rights to the fullest against any unauthorized use of his song in all events and on digital platforms.

In the statement he shared, Altay harshly criticized Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership and his past election defeats, stating, "As a former chairman who made a hobby out of losing, you have left behind only broken dreams," and added that he apologizes to both the voters and the founder of the CHP, Atatürk.

In his statement, he said that the "Rights-Law-Justice" song was provided for the party's use completely free of charge upon request in 2020, but that he has reversed this decision in light of recent developments. Altay particularly drew attention with his emphasis on democratic principles.
