Atatürk 1881-1919 Part 2 hits theaters in 30 countries

The filming process for the Atatürk movie lasted approximately 4 months, and its release alongside the first film offers cinema lovers the chance to watch both. The second film, which covers the 1881-1919 period of Atatürk's life, was released in theaters as of January 5.

Immediately following its release in Turkey, the film will hit theaters in more than 30 countries in January. The producers stated that the first Atatürk film would also be in theaters during the same period, giving audiences the opportunity to watch both films. Directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin and starring Aras Bulut İynemli, the film features Songül Öden as Zübeyde Hanım, Sarp Akkaya as Enver Pasha, and Esra Bilgiç as Madame Corinne.

According to a report by Necmi Çelik from Dünya, producer Hakan Karamahmutoğlu, speaking at a press conference held at Paribu Cineverse Kanyon Cinemas, stated that the film's preparation process took 1.5 years and filming lasted about 4 months, saying, "At the end of a process filled with immense excitement, we are here with this fascinating second film. Telling the story of our National Struggle was a challenge that could not fit into books and films. However, we overcame this difficulty with the interest of the audience, and we are happy and proud of this."

IN MORE THAN 30 COUNTRIES ACROSS 5 CONTINENTS

Producer Saner Ayar noted that despite plans to hold a gala in Europe for the first Atatürk film, these plans could not be realized due to lobbying activities and pressure from terrorist organizations, and that the money paid was refunded. However, Ayar added, "We did not stop. Our film was shown in more than 30 countries across 5 continents, including England, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Australia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, and the Middle East. The audience did not stop; the 1st film 'ATATÜRK 1881-1919' reached a 'record' number of viewers in the countries where it was released," he noted.

Ayar emphasized that the second film would also be released worldwide, adding, "In a period when economic conditions in Turkey are difficult and at a time when cinema tickets strain family budgets, the film reached a box office figure of 1 million 700 thousand, despite the first 70 minutes being shown on Fox TV, showing that it stands with the Turkish people."

"I AM OPEN TO ALL OPINIONS"

Aras Bulut İynemli, who portrays Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the film, expressed his excitement about taking on the role of Atatürk despite having 14 years of acting experience behind him. İynemli said, "We know the greatness of Atatürk. This process is one that requires long labor and effort. Reducing Atatürk's greatness, genius, and ideas to a film, to a story, is a difficult task in itself. This process was frightening for me, but succumbing to this fear would not suit us. I did this in the hope of being worthy of the effort. I personally put forth my best. It will be liked or criticized; I am open to all opinions."

Director Mehmet Ada Öztekin stated that during the film's preparation process, he examined films in Turkish cinema and Hollywood productions that focused on the Gallipoli and Çanakkale wars, adding, "I determined a roadmap by analyzing the work done on these subjects. I tried to move away from anxieties and focus on shooting the film."
