Elif Shafak's novel '10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World' is being adapted into a series

OGM Pictures, which has drawn attention as the production company behind ambitious local series meeting audiences on television, is preparing to adapt the latest novel by author Elif Shafak—known for her best-selling books and recently in the news due to a plagiarism lawsuit involving Mine Kırıkkanat—titled '10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World' into a series.

According to a report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş, the new series from the company, headed by Hayri Aslan, will be written based on Elif Shafak's book '10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World'. The series, which will share the same name as the book, will bring to the screen the story of Tequila Leila, whose body is found in a dumpster.

It has not yet been clarified which artist will portray Tequila Leila. The book takes its name from the finding that the human brain continues to show activity for 10 minutes and 38 seconds after the heart stops. Details of the series, which has already sparked curiosity, will be clarified in the coming weeks.
