Friendship concert marking the 146th anniversary of Turkey-Romania relations at AKM

The Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra is hosting a meaningful friendship concert in collaboration with the Istanbul "Dimitrie Cantemir" Romanian Cultural Institute to celebrate the 146th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Romania. This special event aims to crown the long-standing friendship and cultural ties between the two countries with the universal language of music.

Relations between Turkey and Romania have developed on the basis of mutual respect and cooperation since the 19th century. This 146-year history, which has continued uninterrupted since 1878, is not limited to diplomatic ties but has also deepened through shared values ranging from art and literature to culture and music. In this sense, the concert both honors these strong bonds from the past to the present and aims to build new bridges for future generations.

In the concert program, musicians from both countries will perform works by Turkish and Romanian composers, reinforcing this friendship through artistic exchange. The concert, which will begin with Beethoven's only Triple Concerto performed by Vlad Stanculeasa on violin, Valentin Radutiu on cello, and Andrei Banciu on piano, will continue with the work Three Romanian Dances by Romanian composer Theodor Rogalski. The concert, conducted by Hasan Niyazi Tura, will conclude with the Fatih Symphonic Poem by our orchestra's founder, Cemal Reşit Rey, which draws its inspiration from Fatih Sultan Mehmet's conquest of Istanbul.

The 146th Anniversary of Turkey-Romania Relations Concert will take place on the evening of November 29 at 20.00 at the AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall.
