International Library and Technology Festival begins

As part of the festival, which began today (March 23), young people, producers of technology-based services, entrepreneurs, academics, library professionals, and institutions providing library services will come together.

Participants at the International Library and Technology Festival will be able to experience artificial intelligence workshops, 3D printing workshops, smart book workshops, software and coding workshops, robotics workshops, and internship simulations.

The festival program, which includes various speeches, demos, panels, professional seminars, gamification studios, concerts, and art performances, will continue for five days.

VOLUNTEERS WHO WANT TO RECORD BOOKS ARE AT THE AKM

Within the scope of Library Week, Türk Telekom will also organize a book recording workshop at the Atatürk Cultural Center, where it blends technology with culture and arts.

To introduce the "Kitaplara Ses" (Voice for Books) application, which facilitates book recording for volunteers to ensure that visually impaired individuals have access to a greater number of audiobooks, and to support volunteers who want to record books in reading more effectively, a Book Recording Workshop will be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center Library on Thursday, March 28, between 16:00 and 18:00.

The workshop will include studies on points to consider while reading aloud, how to acquire text comprehension skills, and how to provide the audiobook reading experience to the listener more accurately.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY MEETS LIBRARIES

Having completed the digital transformation of 1,102 libraries in 81 provinces with the applications it has implemented to adapt Turkey's cultural heritage to technology, Türk Telekom provides high-speed access to visitors in archaeological sites, cultural centers, and libraries, primarily at the Atatürk Cultural Center, where it blends technology with culture and arts.

Having launched the Telephone Library project in 2011, which is the first telephone-based audiobook service for the visually impaired in Turkey, Türk Telekom aims to digitize culture and arts with its technological expertise by undertaking the main sponsorship of the International Library and Technology Festival, organized by the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
