Multi-million dollar deal from famous rock band Kiss
The American rock band Kiss has sold its brand name, songs, and copyrights for 300 million dollars.
The world-famous American rock band Kiss has sold the band's brand name, songs, and copyrights to a Swedish firm called Pophouse Entertainment Group in a deal worth approximately 300 million dollars.
Kiss lead singer and bassist Gene Simmons, without disclosing the exact value of the deal reported to be 300 million dollars, stated, "I don't like the word 'sell,' it's a partnership." Simmons added, "Paul Stanley and I, in particular, will remain involved with the band. Kiss is our baby. But we will not be going on tour as Kiss again."
Pophouse CEO Per Sundin stated that his firm, which acquired the brand name, songs, and copyrights of the band founded in 1973—whose current lineup consists of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer—aims to introduce Kiss to new generations.
Sundin noted that they are planning a North American tour in 2027 using "digital avatar" technology, in addition to biographies and documentaries to be prepared about Kiss.
During the final night of Kiss's farewell tour held at New York's famous Madison Square Garden in December 2023, the closing was performed by "digital Kiss avatars" created in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group.
