Sertab Erener declines Eurovision offer

She has now announced that she declined an invitation to perform at the final of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
In a video message shared on social media, the famous artist stated that she had received a special invitation for the Eurovision grand final, saying, "I didn't feel like it." Explaining the reasons for declining the invitation in her message, Erener noted that political developments occurring around the world played a significant role in her decision.
Erener also expressed that her own concert schedule, which coincides with the Eurovision night, was a factor in her decision to decline the offer. She stated that she wants to focus on preparations for her own concert, which will take place in Istanbul on May 16.
The artist's decision regarding Eurovision has caused surprise in the music world and among her fans. Erener not only brought victory to Turkey with the song "Everyway That I Can" but also managed to stay at the top of European music charts for a long time with the track.
