Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell discuss the film Anyone But You

As the romantic comedy 'Anyone But You' prepares to meet audiences in our country on February 23, the global impact the film has created through word-of-mouth has been captivating social media for some time.

Having managed to become a hit before its release, partly due to the chemistry between lead actors Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney, the film has captured a trend that no other romantic comedy has created to date.

Both the rumors of a romance between the lead actors and the fact that both actors ignored these speculations have heightened the excitement.

Speaking ahead of the film, the duo said they aimed to return to something full of love and big laughs with Anyone But You, namely, a theatrical romantic comedy.

'PEOPLE DON'T THINK ROMANTIC COMEDIES ARE FOR THE CINEMA'

Emphasizing that many people today do not think romantic comedies are meant for the cinema, the star actors said, "A lot of people don't think romantic comedies are for the cinema anymore, and we set out to prove them wrong. And I think we succeeded."

They remained silent on romance rumors on the advice of Tom Cruise

The film's lead actor Glen Powell stated that he followed Tom Cruise's advice to remain silent regarding the romance rumors about them, saying:

"Tom Cruise advised me after Top Gun not to listen to everyone's voice. That was great advice for me because it helps you enjoy the whole process. Because at the end of the day, it's all just noise."

Directed by Will Gluck of Easy A, and based on a screenplay he wrote with Ilana Wolpert, the film features Powell and Sweeney in the roles of Ben and Bea.

PLOT OF THE FILM ANYONE BUT YOU

The film, which follows Bea and Ben, who go cold on each other after a first date that started perfectly, only to find themselves unexpectedly at a wedding in Australia, also features names such as Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, Bryan Brown, and Rachel Griffiths.

'Anyone But You', distributed in our country by TME Films, will be in theaters on February 23.
