They are bringing Vivaldi's immortal work to the stage

The Istanbul Youth Ballet Company will present a new interpretation of The Four Seasons, a work consisting of four violin concertos composed by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, to audiences. For Vivaldi’s concertos, each of which reflects the characteristics of the season it is named after, four separate choreographers are taking one season each to address it with a choreographic language, bringing their own unique movement style and cultural perspective to the stage.

Spring bears the signature of Matthew Soloviev, while the summer season comes to life on stage with “Animus.” Autumn is interpreted by Sasha Evtimova, while the winter season is brought to the stage by Olga Pango.

At the same time, the four separate works unite around a single and fragile symbol: a paper boat.

The paper boat travels through spring, summer, autumn, and winter. It is shaped, challenged, and transformed by each season. Symbolizing the flow of time, the journey, and human fragility, this boat turns into a common bond that carries the audience seamlessly from one world to another.

Buse Babadağ (United States) will dance as a guest artist in the production. Sophia Zonni (Canada), Lois Tulleners (Belgium), Fumino Nakayama (Japan), İpek Raazkyazim (United Kingdom), Alice Franchini (Italy), Kio Sagae (Japan), Jann Pisioni (Italy), and young Turkish ballet artists will be on stage in Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

The stage and costume design for Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons were prepared by Mayo Store and Elavate.

The Istanbul Youth Ballet Company will present the work to ballet lovers on Sunday, June 28, at 13.00 and 18.00 at the Kadıköy Municipality Süreyya Opera House.
