1 dead, 3 injured in traffic accident in Kahramanmaraş
In the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, 1 person lost their life and 3 others were injured after a light commercial vehicle plunged into a ravine. An 11-year-old child who survived the accident stopped a passing car to call for help.
The light commercial vehicle with license plate 46 AFB 489, driven by I. K. (44), went out of control near Kavkut Cluster Houses in the Kürtül neighborhood after the driver lost steering control. The vehicle swerved and tumbled into a ravine.
I. E. K. (11), who was thrown from the vehicle, stopped a passing car to ask for help. Upon notification, AFAD, gendarmerie, police, fire department, UMKE, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
After determining that the driver I.K. had died, teams worked for approximately 3 hours to extract his wife M.K. (34), his son A.K. (14), and I. E. K. from the wreckage, after which they were taken to various hospitals in the city.
The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the accident.
