10 mayors leave their parties to join the AKP: Erdoğan pins their badges
Speaking at the AKP's parliamentary group meeting, Erdoğan pinned party badges on 10 mayors who joined the AKP, sending a message that they are 'strengthening their ranks' in local government.
Following the speech delivered by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at his party's parliamentary group meeting, a ceremony was held to pin badges on 10 mayors who left their respective parties to join the AKP.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan stated, 'As the AK Party, we are expanding our ranks on the path of serving our nation. We will continue to strengthen the cadres that will best meet the expectations of the public in local government.'

The mayors who were pinned with badges at the ceremony and their former parties are as follows:
Haydar Sert – Adıyaman, Besni, Suvarlı (DEVA Party)
Hamit Tutuş – Batman, Hasankeyf (CHP)
Ayhan Çavuş – Çankırı, Orta, Yaylakent (New Welfare Party)
Ebubekir Irmak – Elazığ, Sivrice (YRP)
Bayram Öztürk – Elazığ, Palu, Beyhan (Independent)
Adem Gümüş – Erzincan, Tercan, Kargın (YRP)
Cumali Öztürk – Kütahya, Gediz, Yenikent (İYİ Party)
Murat Daban – Manisa, Selendi (YRP)
Mehmet Sıddık Salur – Muş, Central, Karaağaç (YRP)
Alihan Babat – Şırnak, Uludere, Şenoba (YRP)
During the meeting, it was stated that the participation of these mayors in the AK Party would contribute to local governance.
