10 people had been detained: New development regarding the explosion at the ammunition factory in Balıkesir
Following the explosion at an ammunition factory in the Karesi district of Balıkesir, which resulted in the loss of 11 lives, 3 of the 10 individuals referred to the courthouse, including the acting company manager, have been arrested.
The police procedures for the 10 individuals detained as part of the investigation into the explosion that occurred on December 24 at the factory operating near the rural Kavaklı neighborhood have been completed.
Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, the company's acting manager and operations director Cem Y., the explosives manager and occupational health and safety specialist Serkan B., and the acting occupational health and safety manager Hulusi Yağız A. were arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace.
The current ammunition production manager Erman G. and the former ammunition production manager Murat A. were released under judicial control conditions.
It was reported that the other 5 suspects were released following their questioning by the prosecutor's office.
In the Karesi district of Balıkesir, 11 people lost their lives and 7 were injured due to an explosion and collapse that occurred on December 24 in the capsule production section of an ammunition factory. Following the incident, 10 people had been detained as part of the investigation.
