The 7 drivers detained in connection with the chain-reaction accident on the Sakarya section of the Northern Marmara Motorway, which left 10 people dead and 61 injured, have been referred to the courthouse.
The procedures at the Adapazarı Gendarmerie Command have been completed for the bus drivers H.Ö, M.D, F.Ç, S.S, H.A, and E.A, as well as the truck's second driver O.K, who were detained yesterday in connection with the accident involving 7 vehicles, including 3 buses and a truck, in the Taşkısığı section of the motorway heading toward Istanbul.
The suspects, who underwent health checks, were referred to the courthouse. The questioning of the suspects by the prosecutor's office is ongoing.
On the other hand, when asked by journalists about the accident while being brought to the courthouse, a driver, who was seen with a cast on his leg and a bandage on his nose, said, "I remember. I saw the truck had crashed at the last moment, I swerved to the left. I hit a car in front."
In the accident yesterday on the Sakarya section of the Northern Marmara Motorway, which involved 7 vehicles including 3 buses—one of which was carrying people returning from a funeral ceremony in Giresun—and 1 truck, 10 people died and 61 were injured.
