12 people arrested following detentions at Newroz events
While 12 people were arrested for allegedly "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" during Newroz celebrations in Istanbul, judicial control measures were imposed on 14 others.
As part of an investigation into the Newroz celebrations held in Istanbul, 26 people were detained on charges of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization." After being held at the police station for four days, the individuals were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan this morning following the completion of their processing.
The suspects, who gave their statements to the prosecutor's office, were brought before the relevant criminal judgeship of peace. The court ordered the arrest of 12 of the individuals, while deciding to impose judicial control measures on the remaining 14.
