13 detained, 5 face arrest requests at Gazelle Resort and Spa Hotel

Of the 14 people detained regarding the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel, where 78 people lost their lives and 51 were injured, 9 people, including business owner Halit Ergül and company general manager Emir Aras, were arrested, and 1 person was released under judicial control. The Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that the same instances of negligence were also present at the Gazelle Resort and Spa Hotel and detained 13 people at the hotel owned by Halit Ergül.

Those detained include Gazelle Hotel Manager Ahmet Demir, Gazelle Technical Staff Bahadır Bahar, Gazelle Accounting Manager Cemal Özer, Kartal Hotel Electrician Murat Duman, Mudurnu Energy Chairman of the Board İbrahim Polat, and Mudurnu Energy Manager İsmail Karagöz, as well as Gazelle Electricians Bahadır Özkuru, Tahsin Pekcan, and Kadir Çelik; Kartal Hotel Electricians Gürkan Oskan and Bayram Ütkü; Gazelle Accounting Staff Mehmet Salun and Interior Architect Ali B.

The 13 people brought to the courthouse during the night were taken to the prosecutor's office by gendarmerie teams through the parking lot at the back of the courthouse. The proceedings at the prosecutor's office continued until late at night. While the prosecutor's office proceedings for 11 people were completed, 5 people were referred to the duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, and 6 people were referred with a request for judicial control. It was reported that the interrogation of Gazelle Hotel Manager Ahmet Demir and Interior Architect Ali B. will take place on Sunday.

Additionally, Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener, Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, and Fire Department Personnel İrfan Acar are also expected to be taken to the courthouse on Sunday.
