15-day ban decision for Van
The Van Governor's Office has announced that demonstrations, marches, and outdoor meetings to be held in the city have been banned for 15 days.
In a statement issued by the Van Governor's Office, it was stated: "Within the geographical boundaries of Van province, for a period of 15 days starting from April 3, 2024, up to and including April 17, 2024; with the exception of those deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and District Governorships, demonstrations, marches, outdoor meetings, and indoor meetings to be organized in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 are prohibited based on the relevant provisions of Law No. 2911,
Again, with the exception of those deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and District Governorships, activities such as press statements, sit-ins, conducting surveys, setting up/opening tents and stands, organizing signature campaigns, distributing leaflets, brochures, and flyers, and all kinds of protest actions are also prohibited between the specified dates in accordance with the provisions of Article 11, paragraphs (a) and (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442,
Furthermore, between the aforementioned dates, in order to prevent participation in any kind of unlawful actions/events related to the subjects mentioned in the aforementioned posts and similar topics, by individuals or groups coming from our districts or surrounding provinces, either individually or collectively, or using our province's routes, it has been decided by the Governor's Office that individuals/groups likely to participate in unlawful actions/events will not be permitted to enter our province and districts, or to leave them individually or collectively, in accordance with the provisions of Article 11, paragraph (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442."
