15-year-old boy causes terror: Kills his father and brother, critically injures his grandmother

In the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood of Sivas, a 15-year-old boy killed his father and older brother and critically injured his grandmother. The incident took place on the 6th floor of a 7-story apartment building in the area. Upon hearing gunshots from the house, neighbors immediately called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report the situation.

POLICE AND MEDICAL TEAMS DISPATCHED UPON NEIGHBORS' REPORT

Following the report of gunshots, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon entering the house, the teams found that the father, S.Y. (50), and his son, M.Y. (24), had lost their lives, while the grandmother, N.Y. (70), was found critically injured. N.Y. was taken to Sivas Numune Hospital after receiving initial medical intervention.

15-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

The 15-year-old suspect, U.B.Y., was taken into custody as the perpetrator of the incident. The teenager was removed from the house where the crime was committed by police and taken to the police station. While the investigation is ongoing, inquiries into why and how the incident occurred continue.

WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM THE SIVAS GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The Sivas Governor's Office issued a written statement regarding the horrific incident. The statement noted that the incident occurred on March 15, 2026, at approximately 19:15, stating, "Our police and medical teams arriving at the scene determined that 2 people, father S.Y. (50) and son M.Y. (24), had lost their lives, and grandmother N.Y. was injured. The perpetrator of the incident, the child pushed into crime U.B.Y. (15), has been taken into custody by our police units, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in this tragic event, offer our condolences to their relatives, and wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizen."
