16 detained over FETÖ in KPSS and judicial exam investigation

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that detention warrants have been issued for 16 FETÖ members as part of an investigation into irregularities in the 2012 KPSS and the judicial and administrative judge/prosecutor exams held the same year.

A new operation has been launched as part of investigations into FETÖ/PDY. A significant stage has been reached in the examinations conducted regarding irregularities in the 2012 KPSS and the judicial and administrative judge/prosecutor exams.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 12 PROVINCES

It was reported that simultaneous operations would be carried out in 12 provinces, with Ankara as the center, within the framework of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau. In this context, detention warrants were issued for 16 individuals identified as FETÖ members.

BYLOCK USAGE DETECTED

According to information included in the investigation file, it was determined that the suspects used the ByLock program, which is used for internal communication within the organization. It was stated that this situation is among the significant pieces of evidence of organizational connection.

UNLAWFUL PROCUREMENT OF EXAM QUESTIONS

It was determined that the suspects unlawfully obtained and distributed the questions for the KPSS and the judge/prosecutor exams before the exams took place. It was noted that some suspects received these questions and stayed in secret houses established by the organization for exam preparation.

NAMES FROM VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS ON THE LIST

It was learned that among the individuals being processed are civilians, as well as previously dismissed judges and prosecutors, tax inspectors, BTK personnel, Land Registry and Cadastre employees, and Ministry of Culture and Tourism personnel. It was stated that numerous pieces of evidence regarding the suspects' membership, affiliation, and contact with the organization are included in the file.
