17 arrested in drug investigation

Out of 20 suspects detained in simultaneous operations across 4 provinces as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 have been arrested by the court.

The 20 suspects captured in operations organized by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Investigation Bureau were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after undergoing health checks following the completion of their procedures at the police station.

Following their interrogation by the prosecutor's office, 17 of the suspects were arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace, while 2 suspects were released under judicial control measures.

HOW DID THE INVESTIGATION BEGIN?

Within the scope of the file conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau, detention warrants were issued for 22 suspects on charges of "manufacturing and trafficking drugs," "facilitating the use of drugs or stimulants," "possession of drugs for personal use," and "encouraging and mediating prostitution."

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS CONDUCTED

In simultaneous operations organized by Istanbul Police Department teams, centered in Istanbul and including Muğla, Adana, and Antalya, the following individuals were detained: Hamdi Burak Beşer, Mahmut Uğur Ziylan, Erdi Çetin, Uğur Can Peker, Melisa Şahin, İhsan Aygün, Melissa Fidan Çalışkan, Nuran Çokçalışkan, Burak Kaptan, Müzeyyen Karakan, Murat Can Şirin, Yağmur Uçkun, Atilla Aydın, Ozan Kılıç, Esra Yoldaş Balcı, Semavi Siverek, Ercan Siverek, Mehmet Tosmur, Halime Göçmen, and Yılmaz Burak Bozkurt.

DRUGS SEIZED DURING SEARCHES

While cocaine, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia were seized during searches of the suspects' addresses, it was determined that one of the other suspects was already in prison.

On the other hand, it was learned that an arrest warrant has been issued for Ezgi Fındık as part of the investigation.
