17 people had been detained: New development in the investigation into the terror attack in Istanbul

Last Tuesday, 1 of the 3 attackers who engaged in an armed clash with police in Levent, Beşiktaş, was killed, and the other 2 were neutralized as wounded. Following the attack, investigations determined that the attackers were linked to a terrorist organization that exploits religion.

As a result of the operation, a total of 17 suspects, including the 2 wounded attackers, were detained.

Of the 15 suspects whose statements were taken at the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, 12 were referred to the courthouse. The 12 suspects were brought to Bayrampaşa State Hospital for health checks under high-security measures. Following their health checks, the suspects were sent to the Çağlayan Courthouse complex of the Istanbul Palace of Justice.

It was learned that the 2 suspects captured wounded in the attack are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

The interrogation of the 3 suspects who were detained later in connection with the incident also continues at the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch.
