According to the new decision taken at the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting, transport fares have been increased. The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality's request for a price hike was on the agenda of today's UKOME meeting. The 17 percent hike was approved by UKOME.
With the hike, the new price for İzmir's public transport vehicles has seen the full ticket rise from 17.50 TL to 20 TL. Student tickets, which were 7.5 TL, have become 8.78 TL.
