In Istanbul, a technical and wiretap investigation was launched following reports that bribes were being taken from high-tonnage excavation trucks, trucks with missing documentation, minibuses, and commercial vehicles.

All developments regarding the matter, which was monitored by the Public Security Branch, were shared with both the Public Prosecutor and Istanbul Police Chief Zafer Aktaş.

Teams from the Public Security Branch's Robbery Bureau detained 46 police officers, mostly traffic police, 7 of whom had been reassigned to other provinces and 39 of whom were serving on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, for whom detention warrants had been issued.
