19 people arrested for changing drug test results in exchange for money

In an investigation launched into allegations that drug test results belonging to suspects were altered in exchange for money at Siirt Training and Research Hospital, 19 out of 30 detained suspects have been arrested.

19 people arrested for changing drug test results in exchange for money

In Siirt, a comprehensive investigation was launched by the Provincial Police Department teams under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding procedures carried out at the Siirt Training and Research Hospital. The investigation was initiated following allegations that the drug test results of certain suspects brought to the hospital's laboratory were changed to "clean" in exchange for money.

Following the allegations, technical and physical surveillance was conducted by police units for approximately two months. Within the scope of the work carried out, evidence regarding the suspects' actions was collected.

After the surveillance was completed, simultaneous operations were carried out at the identified addresses. A large number of people, including healthcare workers, were detained as part of the operations.

30 SUSPECTS DETAINED

As a result of the operations, a total of 30 suspects, 8 of whom were healthcare workers, were detained. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed.

The detained suspects were brought before the prosecutor's office on charges of "forgery of official documents," "bribery," and "concealing, altering, or destroying evidence of a crime."

19 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, a total of 19 people, including 2 healthcare workers, were arrested by the court and sent to prison.

OTHER SUSPECTS RELEASED

Within the scope of the investigation, 4 of the other detained suspects were released under judicial control conditions, while a decision for release was issued for the remaining suspects.
