2 more names to join AKP on June 25! Mayoral transfers are also on the way

While discussions and internal party divisions continue in the CHP following the absolute nullity decision, new allegations of party changes have emerged in Ankara political circles.

Speaking on a tv100 broadcast, journalist Sinan Burhan claimed that notable political party joinings could take place in the coming days.

IT IS CLAIMED THAT NİMET ÖZDEMİR WILL JOIN THE AKP

According to the insider information shared by Burhan, Istanbul Deputy Nimet Özdemir, who resigned from the CHP, is expected to join the AKP on June 25.

Özdemir was elected as an Istanbul Deputy from the İYİ Party in the May 14, 2023 elections.

Announcing her resignation from her party in a statement on her social media account on July 24, 2024, Özdemir had used the following expressions in her post: "I have resigned from the İYİ Party, which was the starting point of my political life and for whose values I fought hard, because I have severed my emotional ties."

Later, Özdemir, who joined the CHP on October 8, 2024, also resigned from the CHP with a statement she made yesterday.

On the other hand, Burhan said that Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı, who was elected from the İYİ Party, is also expected to join the ranks of the AKP on June 25.

Burhan also claimed that party changes would not be limited to these names.

In his assessment on the tv100 broadcast, Burhan claimed that the participation of the mayors of Ankara's Haymana and Nallıhan districts in the AKP has largely been finalized, while stating that there is no finalized situation regarding the Gölbaşı Municipality yet, and that negotiations are ongoing.
