21 people detained in Narin Güran murder case

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who had been missing in Diyarbakır since August 21, has been found.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced the discovery of Narin Güran's body in a post on X, stating the following:

"The lifeless body of our daughter Narin, who went missing in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, has unfortunately been found by our Gendarmerie teams.

May God have mercy on our daughter Narin. May she rest in peace. Our condolences to all."

DECISION FOR 21 DETENTIONS

In addition to Minister Yerlikaya, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and CHP leader Özgür Özel also expressed their condolences to the family.

In the Narin Güran murder investigation, where her uncle is also currently in custody, 21 suspects have been detained under the instructions of the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

3 MORE PUBLIC PROSECUTORS ASSIGNED

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that the investigation is ongoing and noted the following:

"The investigation regarding those responsible for the death of our child Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was reached in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to clarify this painful incident that has deeply saddened us all, 1 deputy chief public prosecutor and 3 more public prosecutors have been assigned.

The autopsy process regarding our daughter Narin is ongoing.

At this stage of the investigation, an order has been issued for the detention of 21 suspects.

Once again, I wish for God's mercy upon our child Narin."

'GO AND LIE'

While 21 suspects were being detained as part of the Narin Güran murder investigation, a video published on social media drew attention. A relative of the young girl, who was waiting in front of the funeral waiting hall for 8-year-old Narin Güran, reacted to the crowd around her by saying, "Go and lie, okay?"

At that moment, another person next to the woman who was reacting tried to intervene by holding the woman's arm. The woman continued her reaction by saying, "Go and lie" once again. A man in the crowd then punched the woman in the ear. Those moments sparked a major backlash on social media. The video in question raised suspicions that the villagers in the Güran murder case have information, are trying to cover up the matter, and have provided false testimony.
