Minister Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that 663 traffic accidents occurred on the third day of the holiday, with 8 people losing their lives and 1,120 people being injured in these accidents.

Drawing attention to the necessity of obeying traffic rules, Yerlikaya said, 'I hope our holiday mornings are spent with happiness, not tears. Please obey the rules so that our joys do not turn into sorrow. Let us not forget, roads exist to unite us, not to separate us.'

'During the 9-day Ramadan Feast holiday, our police and gendarmerie traffic teams are continuing their inspections. On the 3rd day of the holiday, Monday, March 31, 2025, 528 thousand 654 vehicles were inspected by our traffic teams. Speeding and radar procedures were applied to 27 thousand 387 vehicles, and other procedures were applied to 29 thousand 616 vehicles. Our inspections are not for the purpose of issuing penalties, but to prevent accidents and reduce our loss of life to zero. I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to our injured.'
