The United Nations (UN) has reported that 29 of its personnel have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7 due to Israeli attacks.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has reported that 29 of its personnel have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7 due to Israeli attacks.
UNRWA provided information on the matter in a statement on the X social media platform.
The statement noted that 29 of its employees have lost their lives in the attacks carried out on the Gaza Strip since October 7, and recorded that approximately half of those who died were teachers affiliated with UNRWA.
The UNRWA statement expressed sorrow over the loss of the employees' lives and stated that the agency is mourning those who have died.
ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood."
While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border.
The armed groups then entered residential areas inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched an offensive on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,400 Israelis, including 306 soldiers, were killed and 5,132 Israelis were injured in the attacks launched from Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 4,651 people, including 1,873 children and 1,023 women, had been killed and 14,245 people had been injured in Israel's attacks on Gaza. It was also stated that 90 Palestinians had been killed in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank. 18 journalists have lost their lives in Israel's attacks on Gaza.
