3 consecutive resignations at CHP-run Aksu Municipality
In Antalya's central Aksu Municipality, run by the CHP, Deputy Mayors Hüseyin Çelik, Mevlüt Uludağ, and Hasan Şişli have announced their resignations from their posts. Three out of the five deputy mayors serving in the municipality have now stepped down.
Sharing his decision to resign on his social media account, Hüseyin Çelik stated that he had left his position as Deputy Mayor of Aksu Municipality of his own volition, saying, "I made this decision in order to take on more responsibility in active politics and to continue my struggle under the roof of the Republican People's Party (CHP).
I would like to thank all my colleagues with whom I walked this path during my tenure, and I would like to inform the public that I will continue to work for our Aksu and our country in the coming period.
With respect, love, and struggle," he stated.
Deputy Mayor Mevlüt Uludağ also announced his resignation with the following words:
"Valuable people of Aksu, in the 2024 local elections, we finished the elections as the leading party in Aksu on the path we set out on with Mayor İsa Yıldırım. Following this process, I have served as Deputy Mayor of Aksu Municipality for approximately 1.5 years with the appreciation of Mayor İsa Yıldırım.
As of today, I have resigned from my post.
From now on, I will continue to serve you, the valuable people of Aksu, as a member of the CHP Aksu Municipal Council.
During my tenure, I strove to be by the side of everyone, whether they voted for me or not, and to serve everyone. If I have committed any fault, please forgive me; may the outcome be auspicious."
