3 days after the Savings Measures Circular... The Presidency of Religious Affairs is renovating its restrooms for 6 million liras
The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) held a 6 million lira tender to renovate the restrooms on 7 floors and the ground floor of the A block at its headquarters in Ankara. The tender was won by the company owned by the son of Hacı Bayram Tonbul, the Vice President of Memur-Sen, who is known for his proximity to the government.
The Presidency of Religious Affairs has held a 6 million lira tender to initiate maintenance and repair work on the restrooms located in its headquarters in Ankara.
According to a report by T24, the company that won the tender is Şeyran İnşaat, owned by Eyüp Tonbul, the son of Enerji-Bir Sen President and Memur-Sen Vice President Hacı Bayram Tonbul, who is known for his proximity to the government. The contract for the tender in question was signed on July 23.
According to Diyanet's technical specifications, as part of the renovation work, the wall and floor tiles, sink faucets, and toilet bowls in the restrooms will be completely removed and replaced with porcelain tile flooring and aluminum suspended ceilings. In addition, marble fixtures will be installed, and many items from napkin dispensers to door handles will be renewed.
3 DAYS AFTER THE SAVINGS MEASURES CIRCULAR...
Another detail that draws attention is that the renovation tender was held on May 20, 2024, just three days after the Savings Measures Circular was published in the Official Gazette. The renovation work, which will last a total of 165 days, does not include the restroom on the floor housing the office of the President of Religious Affairs, Ali Erbaş.
