Following the identification of 46 individuals engaged in "international espionage" activities on behalf of the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service, Mossad, targeting foreign nationals—primarily Palestinian and Israeli families and activists residing in Turkey—by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Istanbul Police Department's Intelligence Branch, 34 suspects belonging to the spy network were apprehended in an operation centered in Istanbul and spanning 8 provinces on Tuesday, January 2.
The 34 suspects, whose interrogations and procedures at the police station have been completed, were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
