4.1 magnitude earthquake in the Sea of Marmara
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara, off the coast of Balıkesir, at 22:26.
According to the statement made by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), an earthquake was recorded in the Sea of Marmara, 9.70 kilometers from Balıkesir.
The depth of the tremor was measured at 7.18 kilometers.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF BALIKESİR
Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu stated on his social media account: "As of now, there are no negative reports following field scans by AFAD and our relevant institutions, nor any reports received by the 112 Emergency Call Center.
I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake."

Following the earthquake, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür shared the following on his X account:
"A 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Tekirdağ - Güzelköy. The earthquake is on the Tekirdağ Fault Zone. We believe this zone was ruptured in the 1912 Şarköy Earthquake.
We also know that earthquakes with magnitudes reaching 4.0, linked to gas emissions, occur here from time to time.
In this respect, we are not concerned."
