A 4.1 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the Gazipaşa district of Antalya. AFAD announced that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 18.05 kilometers below the sea surface.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that an earthquake occurred in the Mediterranean, approximately 95.91 kilometers off the coast of the Gazipaşa district of Antalya.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 4.1, and it was stated that it occurred at 21:14.
Following the earthquake, geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a statement via social media.
Görür stated, "A 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Antalya in the Hellenic-Cyprus subduction zone." This statement indicates that the earthquake is related to the geological structure of the region.
