It has been reported that 41 people identified as having insulted AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family during the Ekrem İmamoğlu protests in Saraçhane have been apprehended.

Protests across the country are growing following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on corruption charges.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into insults directed at AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family during the demonstrations in Saraçhane.

Within the scope of the investigation, the prosecutor's office issued detention warrants for the suspects on charges of "insulting the President," "violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations," and "resisting a public official."

Acting upon this, teams from the Istanbul Police Department carried out an operation and detained 41 suspects.

It was learned that the processing of the 41 detained individuals is ongoing at the police station.
