7-month pregnant woman shot in the neck loses her life

The incident took place in the Kümeevler area of Bağlık Neighborhood in the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ. According to the information obtained, a brief argument broke out between Ş.D. and S.C. during the unloading of firewood in the evening hours. 

As the argument escalated into a fight, 17-year-old S.D. began firing at S.C., with whom he had been arguing, using a pump-action shotgun he retrieved from his home. 

While one of the pellets from the shotgun grazed S.C.'s shoulder, another struck 22-year-old Sedanur Güven, who was 7 months pregnant and sitting in front of her house at the time, in the neck.

COLLAPSED TO THE GROUND

Güven, who was suddenly covered in blood from the gunshot wound, was rushed to Çerkezköy State Hospital by citizens at the scene. Ş.D., who caused terror with the pump-action shotgun, fled the scene. 

While the pregnant woman taken to the hospital could not be saved despite all interventions, the baby was saved through a successful operation.

 Police teams have launched a wide-scale investigation into the incident. It was learned that efforts to apprehend the murder suspect, Ş.D., are ongoing.
