7 of 11 suspects arrested in connection with Kocaeli fire tragedy

In the fire that broke out at the facility in Mimar Sinan Neighborhood on November 8 at approximately 09:00, Şengül Yılmaz (55), Tuğba Taşdemir (18), Nisa Taşdemir (17), Cansu Esatoğlu (16), Esma Gikan, and Hanım Gülek (52) lost their lives, and 7 people, 1 of whom was in critical condition, were injured.

Regarding the tragedy, 11 suspects identified as K.O., I.O., A.A.O., G.B., H.E., O.Y., Ö.A., A.O.A., G.G., Ö.A., and G.D. were apprehended and detained by teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Homicide Bureau on charges of "intentional killing, intentional injury, property damage, negligent homicide, and concealing, destroying, or altering evidence of a crime." Following the completion of their procedures at the Homicide Bureau, the suspects were referred to the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today. Three suspects, G.B., H.E., and G.D., who were referred to the court by the prosecutor's office with a request for judicial control, were released under judicial control conditions. Seven suspects, K.O., I.O., A.A.O., O.Y., Ö.A., A.O.A., and G.G., who were referred to the court by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest, were imprisoned, while Ö.A. was released under judicial control conditions.
