7 suspects apprehended in terror operation

Detention orders were issued for a total of 7 suspects, including two who were active within the DGH, the youth wing of the separatist terrorist organization PKK/KCK, and two who organized vehicle arson activities on behalf of the organization.

In operations conducted by teams from the Istanbul Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate, all 7 suspects, including two located outside the province, were apprehended.

The following statement was provided regarding the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau:

"Operational work is planned to apprehend individuals who operate within the PKK/KCK terrorist organization's youth wing DGH (Revolutionary Youth Movement), who are assessed to be capable of carrying out/directing illegal street actions, who organize illegal border crossings to Greece and the border crossings of terrorist organization members sent to our country from Greece for the purpose of carrying out actions, who continue said activities in affiliation with the PKK/KCK terrorist organization and are connected to the organization, who operate within ANYAKAY-DER (Association for Solidarity and Assistance with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in Anatolia), which is affiliated with the PKK/KCK terrorist organization's KCK/TDÖ Social Area and Institutions Spokesperson structure, and who have previously operated within the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG terrorist organization and engage in terrorist organization propaganda on social media accounts."

The statement further noted that operations were carried out at a total of 28 addresses, including 24 addresses in 13 districts in Istanbul, and 2 addresses each in Aydın, Batman, and Diyarbakır.
