71 targets struck in Iraq and Syria, 59 terrorists neutralized

Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler provided information, stating, "We carried out attacks on 71 targets in the air operation we conducted in northern Iraq and Syria. As a result of the operations, a total of 59 terrorists have been neutralized through various clashes and other methods."

A video teleconference meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, with the participation of Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Commander of the Naval Forces Admiral Ercümet Tatlıoğlu, Commander of the Land Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Commander of the Air Forces General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, and Deputy Ministers Şuay Alpay, Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu, and Celal Sami Tüfekci.

Minister Yaşar Güler received information regarding the fight against terrorism and other activities, and gave instructions regarding the work to be carried out. He also emphasized that the revenge for the martyrs has been taken in the harshest way and will continue to be taken.

Minister Güler stated the following at the meeting:

“On December 22 and 23, we lost 12 of our heroic sons as martyrs in the Claw-Lock Operation region. Our pain is great, but our will is absolute. We have taken the revenge of our martyrs, we continue to take it, and we will continue to take it in the harshest way. Let no one doubt this. I wish God's mercy upon our dear martyrs, offer my condolences to their families and our nation, and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

In response to these attacks, we conducted air operations against a total of 71 targets in northern Iraq and Syria. A total of 59 terrorists have been neutralized through air operations, clashes, and other means. However, it should not be forgotten that no terrorist is worth even a fingernail of one of our martyrs. With the revenge we will take, we will neutralize these terrorists as soon as possible; let no one have any doubt about this.

Our fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized. As the Ministry of National Defense, we are successfully fulfilling the duties we have undertaken for the survival of our state and the peace and security of our citizens.
